10 Mile TT Training Plans

In a time trial you do not need to worry about any other cyclist in the race. It is you against the clock.

The 10 mile TT is a good introduction into time trialing and will teach you the importance of maintaining your cadence and a good pace. The key for 10 mile training is specific targeted training.

ATW has free training plans available for beginner, intermediate and advanced level athletes.

The 10 Mile TT training plan for advanced athletes was written by Tanja Slater

Tanja is a former Elite Triathlete and a former Elite Cyclist

As a triathlete she finished 5th in the European Elite U23 Championships. She turned full time and went on to compete for Great Britain and became part of the National Triathlon Squad. Tanja improved quickly to go on to finish 8th in her first European Senior Elite Championships.

As a cyclist Tanja finished 5th in her first Elite National Championships. Tanja competed for a Swiss Professional Women's Cycling Racing Team, racing around the World and competed in two World Championships, aiding Nicole Cooke to podium places on both occasions. Although being a designated 'worker' in the team, she won a few races in the UK and Europe, but her most exciting performance was winning a stage of the "Women's Tour de France" solo.

Tanja is now a full time triathlon coach.
