Trent Park Aquathlon

The event is organised by Trent Park Running Club

Join us for the 2019 Trent Park Aquathlon in the newly-refurbished Furzefield Leisure Centre. The race will include chip timing to give you accurate results and split times.

The event is suitable for both novice and experienced triathletes. The swim will be in the 33m pool and the spectator friendly run route is entirely traffic free through the playing fields and woods behind the leisure centre. We offer a number of different distance for adults and juniors as follows:

  • Seniors (15 and above): 400m (12 lengths) swim and 5K run

  • Juniors (Tri stars 1, 2 and 3)

  • 100m (3 lengths) swim and 1600m run (Tristars 1 - optional)

  • 200m (6 lengths) swim and 2400m run (Tristars 2 & 3)

The race is a British Triathlon Federation sanctioned event and will be run in accordance with BTF competition rules, you can download a copy of the rule book here

Nothing will be posted out in advance of the event. A race information pack with full details will be emailed to all competitors prior to the event. Registration packs can be collected from registaration from 8.00am for seniors and close promptly at 8.45am. Junior registration is from 9.00am until 9.45am. Please arrive in plenty of time, you will not be allowed to race if you miss registration.

icon Logistical Information


The event will be held at the Furzefield Leisure Centre, Mutton Lane, Potters Bar EN6 3BW. There is free parking on site and it is a one mile (20 minute) walk from Potters Bars railway station. Changing rooms and lockers are available on site.


8.45am seniors / 9.45am juniors - The race briefing will take place beside the transition area. Attendance is compulsory. The race briefing will inform you of any last minute route changes and safety points. If you have any questions or queries on race day, please ask them after the race briefing.

Race Start / Swim

9.00am seniors / 10.00am juniors - The swim will be a "snake" style swim, your start time will be based on your estimated swim time, please enter a realistic swim time on the registration form so that we can avoid mixing slow and fast swimmers. You will line up along the side of the pool ready to start under the guidance of the swim director, all competitors must be on poolside for the start of the swim.

Transition Area

You will be required to set up your transition area prior to the event starting. The transition area will be open from 8.00am. The area will be separated into senior and junior sections.

The Run

The run course is fully marshalled and follows a relatively flat off road course within the centre's playing fields. Seniors will run 2 laps for a total of 5K, juniors will run 2 or 3 laps of a shorter course making 1.6 or 2.4K in total. Ordinary running shoes are advised, spikes are NOT allowed.

Other Race Information

Race Numbers
Race numbers must be worn on the run, please wear your number pinned to the front of your vest with four pins.

There is a large free car park at the centre.

Changing and Toilets
There are changing facilities, toilets and lockers at the centre (£1 coin refundable). Trent Park Running club and furzefield Centre will not be responsible for lost property.

Time Limit
Whilst there is no specific time limit all adults must be clear of the pool by 09:55am and juniors must be clear by 10:45am

No refund will be made to any entrant not completing the race or cancelling prior to the race without the proper refund insurance. No transfer of race numbers to another person is allowed and may result in suspension by TE as this can invalidate the terms of the insurance policy.

You are entitled to a full refund of your entry fee in the occasion of the event being cancelled due to but not limited to:

Adverse weather conditions
Key supplier failure
Any major incident deemed a health & safety risk
Cancellation or revocation of Licence or closure of event for health & safety by local authority

This insurance is included in your admin fee which is added onto your booking at the checkout.

You are entitled to a full refund in the occasion of, but not limited to these circumstances:

 Athlete injury
 Jury Service

This insurance is OPTIONAL at an additional cost of 6% of your entry fee and is offered at the checkout.


By entering this event you agree to the below terms and conditions

Your details will be passed onto the event organisers for the administration of the race.

Your name, date of birth and email details will be passed onto the chip timing company. Personal details will be deleted 1 week after the event.

Where specified on the booking form any medical information will be passed onto the medical team present at the event.

I declare that the competitor is fit to compete, and will abide by the rules of Triathlon England / BTF and of the organisers terms and conditions. I accept that the organisers and their friends and associated are not liable for any loss, damage, claim, injury (including fatal) or expense that may arise in consequence or participation in this event.
