The 5k training plan for beginners is aimed at people who want to complete the 5k distance for the first time.
In order to complete the 5k training plan for beginners athletes should be capable of training 3 days a week.
There will be a mixture of walking and running in this plan.
Change the days to fit your lifestyle if preferred but always ensure a balanced running week
The Beginner 5K training plan was written by Helen Clitheroe.
Helen Clitheroe is a middle and long distance runner representing Great Britain. She has competed at the 2000 Sydney Olympics in the 1500m and 3000m steeplechase in 2008.
